Michael Thurmond is the founding partner and manages the Firm’s day to day operation. His formal education includes a Bachelor of Science from the University of Alabama (Magna Cum Laude) and a Juris Doctor of Law from Stetson University. He has been a member of the Florida Bar since 1998 and has represented clients in criminal, civil, dependency and administrative Courts through the State. Michael has worked for the citizens of our country as an Assistant State Attorney (Criminal Prosecutor) and Assistant Attorney General (Civil). In private practice, he has worked in litigation and administrative areas of the law. He has been published in the Florida Bar Journal in the area of environmental compliance with Federal Law.

In addition to his legal experience, Michael retired from the U.S. Army in 2011 as a Colonel having served as the Chief of Staff for Army Aviation, Florida Department of Military Affairs. He had tours in both Kuwait and Iraq and his service medals include the Meritorious Service Medal, Bronze Star and Legion of Merit. He has been a military trained professional pilot for over two decades and is qualified in both helicopters and airplanes.
